Karmveer Bhausaheb Hiray, the erstwhile revenue minister of Bombay Province, the creator of Historic Tenancy Act for the welfare of farmers, a staunch freedom fighter, an ardent educationalist and a pioneer of Co- Operative Movement in Maharashtra has established two well-known educational institutions, 'Adivasi Seva Samittee' (1945), and 'Mahatma Gandhi Vidyamandi' (1952) in Nashik District. He has established 5000 voluntary schools at that time to provide education to the needy and deserving pupils in Tribal, Hilly and Rural area. His revolutionary son Late Loknete Vyankatrao Hiray has nourished the two educational institutes and opened the vistas of higher education by opening senior colleges. Hon'ble Pushpatai Hiray, the Ex- Minister of Health of Maharashtra State contributed a great deal for the enrichment of these educational institution. Hon'ble Samajshree Prashantdada Hiray, the Ex- Minister of Transport and Protocol, Hon'ble Smitatai Hiray, Hon'ble Dr. Apoorva Hiray, MLC, Teachers Constituency, Maharashatra State, and Hon'ble Advay Hiray (Patil), have been toiling their efforts to extend higher education, in technical, medical, pharmaceutical, legal, hotel management, agricultural, social work, art and fine arts and hundreds of advanced educational facilities to the needy students.
The college is committed to attain the learning goals of the rural youth. The challenges of the higher education especially the rural students will be identified and we strive to transform the rural youth into the all round, skilled and learnt youth for the Nation building.
It is indeed an honor for me to be the principal of K.B. H. Art, Science & Commerce College, Nimgaon, Malegaon. It is certainly a matter of pride to state that our college holds the distinction of being the only institution providing higher education to the rural students in the surrounding region. The college was established in June 2000 to serve education to the poor and needy students particularly with rural background.
Today's age is an age of challenges, problems and pressure. It is also an age of cut throat competition and so our students have so many responsibilities as well as expectations to fulfill. Students who belong to rural community have to compete with their urban counterparts who are easily exposed to the better educational facilities. These students are educationally and economically deprived. Therefore, we are determined to make these students competent enough so that they can face the challenges of 21st Century. We are sincerely and devotedly trying to motivate these deprived students in competitive spirit and confidence. We are trying to give them an opportunity and an environment that is inspiring and stimulating.
The college uses education as the tool for empowering the students coming from adverse and poor socio-economic classes. Apart from the regular academic activities various extracurricular activities are conducted in the college. The college organizes seminars, workshops and camps for the students. Eminent scholars are invited to deliver lectures. Activities such as Blood Donation Camps, free medical checkup camp, Aids awareness Campaign, Cleaning Campaign, Literacy Campaign, Samarth Bharat Abhiyan help in creating social awareness among students. Our N.S.S. unit has been one of the assets of our college promoting the spirit of social service among students.
Our ultimate aim is to make our students responsible citizens of our country. So we are trying to instill in every students a sense of virtue and wisdom, sensitivity to the needs and problems of others. This is the true spirit of education.
